The Story
The Scotch Bonnet was given this name as its shape resembles that of a Scotsman’s bonnet, formally known as a Tam O-shanter hat. A relative to the Habanero, it is one of the most popular chillies in the Caribbean. We also have Jamaican Hot yellow.
Flavour: The scotch bonnet has a distinctive flavour and aroma. It has an unusually sweet flavour which gives it that lovely sweet-heat taste, making it a perfect choice for sauces and chutneys, as well as any rice dish or stew. It has a fruity flavour like the Habanero, but is slightly sweeter.
Heat Level (SHU): 100,000–400,000 Scoville Heat Units (Very Hot)
Quantity: 38 seeds
Australian grown.
